What Passes Between Us | Talk and Harbour Boat Trip
Pádraig Spillane, Peter Hession & Miranda Driscoll in conversation
Saturday 07 October at 1.30pm (followed by boat tour at 2.30pm).

As part of What Passes Between Us, an exhibition by Pádraig Spillane
Curated by Miranda Driscoll

Join artist Pádraig Spillane, historian Peter Hession, and Sirius Arts Centre director Miranda Driscoll for a discussion exploring themes relating to the exhibition and its link to the surrounding harbour.

This event will start with an introduction to the exhibition by Pádraig Spillane followed by a discussion with Peter and Miranda expanding on modes of the body in relation to the historical and industrial location of Cork Harbour. We will then take to the water on a RIB highlighting the past and present of the harbour through different locations.

Peter Hession completed a BA in History and Political Science at Trinity College Dublin before graduating from the University of Cambridge with an M.Phil and Ph.D in history funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Since 2015, he has lectured at the Universities of Cambridge and Leicester, and is currently teaching at University College Dublin having recently completed a visiting Fellow at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris. His doctoral dissertation, 'Social Authority and the Urban Landscape in Nineteenth Century Cork', is currently being converted into a monograph.
