Gaelic Fields by Paul Carroll is a seven-year photography journey throughout Ireland, capturing the action of Gaelic club games in their unique surroundings. Carroll captured Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and ladies Gaelic football games at all adult levels in every county. 

In 2010 he set out to identify the importance of Gaelic clubs to small communities within their local environment. Seven years and more than 50,000km’s later he discovered a vibrant and important grass-roots sporting movement in a variety of locations which traverse the 32 counties of the island of Ireland.

Gaelic Fields documents the importance of grass-roots Gaelic games within its communities and its relationship within their environments. To those new to Gaelic games, it portrays them and Ireland in a unique and familiar way.

Paul will give a talk and presentation about the project at 1pm on Tuesday 14^th March at Sirius Arts Centre.
